Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to replace or repair my shingle roof?

To determine if your shingle roof should be repaired or replaced two primary points should be considered.

1. Roof age – if your shingle roof is 5 years old or less then there is a strong possibility for repair.

2. Condition – how critical the roofs condition is determines repairability. If significant granule loss has occurred the possibility of repair is reduced.

How much does a new roof cost?

Roof costs vary widely depending on the type of roof system desired, the area you lived in, and the roof structure.

A very simple baseline for different roof types are below.

1. Shingle – Approximately $3 – 6 per square foot.

2. Metal – Approximately $5 – 15 per square foot

3. Commercial Single Ply – $10 – 20 per square foot

Should I call my insurance company or a contractor?

We would always advise a homeowner to call a contractor who specializes in restoration to determine the severity of damage conditions and life expectancy of the areas of focus.

Once a thorough assessment is completed and you believe you have adequate information, proceed with calling your insurance carrier.
